Rules
-
This Under 450 Fargo Rated Pool Tournament will use the current Cue Sport International (CSI) Rules for USAPL/BCAPL.
Basic rules you will need to know.
8 Ball Rules
-
NO SLOP. Call ball and pocket (not how it gets there). You don't have to call obvious shots but you must call all bank shots, caroms, combos, and where the 8 is going.
-
Alternate breaks
-
Rack your own breaks.
-
Jumping allowed, no scooping. Must drive cue ball into the bed of the table
-
All scratches and fouls are ball in hand ANYWHERE on the table at all times including the break. This means it is NOT behind the line even on the break.
-
8 on the break is NOT a win. You can spot the 8 and continue shooting or re-rack the balls and the same shooter breaks again. If you make the 8 on the break and scratch the incoming player can spot the 8 and continue shooting or re-rack the balls and break.
-
Scratch on the 8 is only a loss if you sink the cue ball and 8 ball at the same time. If you scratch and miss the 8 ball that is not a loss. That is a ball in hand for your opponent
-
To win your match you must win a certain number of games. Number of games you must win will be determined by the difference between the two players Fargo Ratings. The Fargo Rate R3 Hot Chart will be used. Chart is listed below After 9 Ball Rules.
9 Ball Rules
-
Slop is allowed. You don't have to call the ball and pocket.
-
Alternate Break
-
Rack your own break, 1 ball on the spot
-
Jumping allowed, no scooping. Must drive cue ball into the bed of the table
-
Make 9 ball on the break anywhere is a win
-
All scratches and fouls are ball in hand ANYWHERE on the table at all times including the break. This means it is NOT behind the line even on the break.
-
Push out after the break is allowed
-
3 foul rule in affect (Must tell opponent they are on two fouls)

Example of determining number of games that must be won….Player A is a 400 and Player B is a 320. That is a difference of 80 (400-320=80). According to the R3 Chart a difference of 80 means a 3-2 race.
